Screenshot of the “I have a NoBlogs / WordPress XML export and need to rebuild my site” recovery pathway in the Become the Thousand Servers course. The page explains that the guide helps recover a blog, keep an independent backup, and document how someone else could move it later. It shows three large destination buttons: “Someone else hosts it for me,” “I want to self-host it,” and “I want another kind of destination.” Below, the progress reads “Step 2 of 2 (choose a destination to see the rest)” with a collapsed “Routes through this recovery path” section and links for “What is this XML file?” and “Choose where your blog will live.”

BECOME THE THOUSAND SERVERS

A practical field course in autonomous movement infrastructure, built in the aftermath of A/I's shutdown.

Learn what you depend on. Teach somebody else.

The unit of resilience isn’t the machine. It’s the person who can reproduce the machine

Black-and-white DIY zine-style poster for Become the Thousand Servers. A large illustrated octopus rises behind several server racks, with tentacles curling around the machines and cables. A laptop marked with an anarchist “A” sits on top. A ribbon across the servers reads “Each one, teach one.” An astronaut floats below among looping cords, plugs, lightning bolts, radio towers, and transmission symbols. Large text at left reads “Become the Thousand Servers.” The bottom banner gives the URL: sabot.media/guides/become-the-thousand-servers.

Our piece from last year, ALL OF US VERSUS TECH DYSTOPIA, is back from the void! It was a prescient piece about surveillance and the need for alternative tech controlled by the people.

The priority right now is simple: Preserve first. Migrate second. If your collective has years of writing, statements, history, documents or organizing material, do not assume it will remain reachable indefinitely just because you can still see it now. More detailed instructions soon. 5/5
