Done. Now I just want to eat and read - after a dog walk 🤣

Jaggy elevation profile (in solid green) and heart rate (red line) for a set of 8 x 2 minute hill reps. Huffing like a worn out steam engine throughout.

The day spike phenomenon feels very familiar

I’m steeling myself for hill intervals later, motivation n lacking lol

And about 42.5 on rMSSD

Take the wins 😉 My HRV is surprising, Im around 7.5 average, if it jumps above 8 that almost always precedes illness. My biggest frustration is not being able to get my HR much above 154, even four years ago 163 was my absolute limit 🤷🏻‍♂️

That’s incredible, even 54 must be significantly lower than the majority

Like squinting into a dirty mirror in a steamy bathroom

Squeezed in today’s hour easy run, followed by a trundle with the hound by the river. Chilly in the valley, warm up top!

A great little town with a beautiful setting for the church ☺️

Here’s a pika above the Hess Mine in 20 Lakes Basin and the description from our 2012 NAGT field guide to the area.

Furry small pika on lookout in a broken boulder field with a few sprigs of greenery in between. Caption from field guide reads
“Figure 21 - Pika above Hess Mine. Its ill temper, hideous looks and propensity for attacking unsuspecting victims with a leaping, fang-first attack have helped it become one of the most reviled and feared mammals known to man.”

Found a patch of what I suspect is Crocus speciosus (?) growing wild, much more strikingly marked than those in my garden. I feel some sampling is needed 🫣

Sadly I don’t think I’ll be permitted to miss those cold, wet, dark training runs that will soon be upon us 🤣

Resting heart rate creeping back down - though 40 feels a bit too low 👀

A bar chart showing resting heart rate. The trend over the last two weeks going steadily downwards with the most recent reading at 40 beats per minute
