That sounds very believable. It’s the factor it’s gone AWOL that raises questions though!
Ah well maybe for me it’s the versions that existed before I started playing!
I started collecting with RT/WFB3 but only started playing with 2nd/4th. To me I think there’s a pretty big gulf between those two eras in terms of miniatures, rules, armies books, proliferation of special characters etc. Feels like a really good place to put the dividing line.
Now *that’s* a landing
I know definitions are woolly, but I thought Oldhammer was generally regarded as being Rogue Trader-era 40k and pre-4th edition WFB. So ending considerably before this.
This looks like it should be on The Day Today!
Middlehammer I think?
Inaccurate Subtitle (But I love Eldar Titans)
Dunno why, just fancied some Inspector Gadget on my timeline
Wow! Did not see that twist coming. 10/10, looking forward to the sequel
How videogames made me… Not pictured: videogames catering solely to my existing preferences so that I never ever discover anything new again
I picked up all the Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader PDFs in a Humble Bundle years ago, and haven't read even half of it; when the Deathwatch, Black Crusade and Only War bundle came out later, I looked at it and thought, you know what, I’m never going to read all that.
Doing myself a little timeline for the releases of #40k TTRPGs (with wargame editions for comparison) and I've discovered:
a) Boy there are a lot of editions of 40k
b) Fantasy Flight went crazy didn't they?! Five separate 40k RPGs released 2008-2013, almost one a year, all with tons of supplements!
Happy Friday, folks! Here's the highlights of the Week that Was, including the Necromunda RPG's disappearing act, WFRP 5e's continued sales dominance, and a giveaway for an Imperium Maledictum Inquisition Guide Collector's Edition! #RPG
END OF LINE (for human CEOs)
No mask!
Is this their new slogan? “Can’t remember? Vote Conservative.”
Some rather heretical thoughts on the (un)suitability of the #Warhammer Chaos Gods for #WFRP:
I just published a free-to-read article on my Patreon placing the recent announcement of Necromunda Roleplay in the context of Games Workshop's long history producing RPGs.
