At a moment when we need everyone focused on saving Canada, the UCP is letting down Albertans again. The Alberta NDP is putting ALL our focus and resources into saving Canada. What is the UCP doing?

Danielle Smith (UCP) has been an MLA for 1,456 days (this time). She refuses to sign the pledge to stand up for Canada. Alberta deserves more MLAs like Kyle Campbell who will actually fight to keep Alberta in Canada.

Kyle Campbell (NDP) has been an MLA for one day. He has signed the pledge to stand up for Canada. Jason Nixon (UCP) has been an MLA for 4,145 days. He refuses to sign the pledge to stand up for Canada.

Now we are at the same point we were a decade ago when Alberta’s NDP government got a pipeline built. The hard part of getting this project completed begins. Nothing Danielle Smith has done shows she’s up to the task.

It is worth noting, however, that this is not the pipeline Smith promised Albertans. She insisted on a route to Prince Rupert that no one proposed and everyone knew couldn’t be built, and she said it would be a failure if it was a government-funded pipeline.

This project will bring good jobs for Alberta families, and it will strengthen our national sovereignty as Danielle Smith’s friend, Donald Trump, threatens our country.

We consulted extensively with industry to realize this route was the most feasible and most likely to get built before actively advancing it with the most senior levels of the federal government and the public.

We are very pleased that the southern route pipeline that we’ve been advocating for many months, over Danielle Smith’s objections, is moving forward.

I am touched, as I always am, by the courage of First Nations people and all Indigenous people. Indigenous people have been harmed by the mistakes of Canada more than anybody else, and yet no one has stood stronger in favour of fighting for this country.

It was a pleasure to speak at ABmunis today and connect with municipal leaders from across Alberta. Over the last seven years, the UCP government has placed an unsustainable burden on our local governments.
