To see a massive studio like this say to us all in no uncertain terms "we will not put forward artistic effort for you ever again in the name of profit" is a full unapologetic transiton into being mask off evil in the grand scheme of game design. We should not respect or reward them, at all, ever.

The "no more code" thing doesn't seem to be just a rumor, I'm seeing this news absolutely everywhere. People are getting confirmation from internal contacts.

When Fortnite was just a free to play costume market I was pretty neutral on it. Not for me for lots of reasons, but whatever, it's harmless. If you like it why does it matter to me? Now it matters. They're straight up saying "no more art, no more code, no more effort". Don't support them. Simple.

I am sincerely begging everybody to stop playing Fortnite. Anything from Epic directly really, but Fortnite makes them so much money and there is simply no moral way to support them anymore. Also there are just so many better games, who cares about skins. Stop paying for them. Stop playing it.

Also to be clear I obviously I know it isn't actual magic, I've done some rudementary templated HTML work in the past. But I don't think the comparison is too unreasonable. It's basically just the whole "science indistinguishable from magic" concept. Anyway, I hope coders respect themselves more.

To be clear I mean this sincerely for everything from the most amazingly in depth video game you've ever played to the most basic HTML website you've clicked on. Code makes so much happen that would otherwise not be possible. It's like pointing at a drawing, saying "live", and then it does.
