Anime fan. Will probably mostly just use this to follow artists. He/she/they, born in 1994.

Yeah. Especially surprising for Venom, given there are a lot of other Symbiotes who haven’t been in fighting games before.

she said "you can do anything in fiction as long as the situation afterwards is more interesting that the situation before." since then i have been keeping an eye on character death in fiction. many writers seem to think that character death "raises the stakes" but actually just makes things boring
This is such a useful piece of advice/knowledge that's going right into the toolkit.

the problem with the ruri rocks fandom is that none are making yuri rocks fanworks
(For the “take away from other characters” bit, I’m using the definition proposed by OSP Red in one of her old Trope Talk videos, which I still feel has the best definition of the term since it doesn’t merely boil down to “character I dislike”) youtu.be/H2-GIY9RTqU?...
I’ve heard “Jerk Sue” and other similarly “not a name”-named subtropes before, so the term by itself doesn’t bother me, but I do take issue with using it for Kaiba: the thing with “Mary Sue” and its subtropes is how they take away from other characters, while Kaiba’s very much doing his own thing.
For me it always comes back to this Yes Kaiba has a whole character arc, but his origin is rooted in toxic gamer culture

Your daily reminder that paying actual artists and writers and programmers isn't just the morally correct choice, it's also often cheaper.
