Time to pump up the tyres for #Ride2WorkDay tomorrow!

Petrol prices are spiking again, and jumping on the bike is a great way to save money (and cut emissions!)

The Greens are proud to back the #Gimme5 campaign to dedicate 5% of the transport budget to safe bike infrastructure

We’ve been touring a GIANT banner around the state, collecting signatures from Victorians who want to end coal & gas - now we’re bringing it to parliament!

Swing by on the way to work to add your last-minute signature & join our big group photo!

Details: contact-vic.greens.org.au/civicrm/even...

A photo of Sarah Mansfield MP with some of her staff and a big banner that reads "Protect Victoria - End Coal & Gas". The banner is covered in signatures. They are standing in front of a lighthouse. Graphic text over the photo reads "End Coal & Gas banner at Parliament. Wednesday 14 October - 8:30am. Steps of Parliament House."

This is massive. High court has backed the climate science and the community over Labor Government's magical thinking on coal and gas emissions. Fossil emissions don't miraculously disappear when shipped overseas.

@katcopseygreens.bsky.socialOct 7, 2026, 2:36 AM

Our world is getting hotter - and extreme heat is more deadly than bushfires, floods, storms & cyclones combined. The Greens will replace Labor’s coal and gas with cheaper, publicly-owned renewable energy to cut climate pollution - and permanently lower Victorians’ energy bills.

Last sitting week I used my Members' Statement to advocate for Changing Places, an important accessibility measure for our community

After the latest interest rate rise, Labor's priority is tax cuts for property investors. Meanwhile renters in Melbourne are paying 70% more than 5 years ago and young people are being locked out of ever buying a place.

@katcopseygreens.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 1:38 AM

The Liberals and One Nation want to derail renewable investment, while Labor continue approving new gas projects. Slowing the shift to renewable energy and keeping us hooked on coal & gas will not only cook the planet, it will drive up energy prices for every Victorian.

On the final sitting day of this parliamentary term, we passed a very important bill. It will significantly strengthen Victoria’s anti-corruption watchdog, IBAC. This was the result of years of Greens advocacy - and it was Tim Read who led the charge. He would have been proud tonight.

The Greens want to support people to ride their bikes in safety and comfort. We’ve backed Bicycle Network’s #Gimme5 campaign, and pledged to spend 5% of the transport budget on safe cycling infrastructure like the Strategic Cycling Corridors.

@katcopseygreens.bsky.socialSep 24, 2026, 5:30 AM

Labor is cutting investment in cycling infrastructure & failing to deliver Victoria’s Strategic Cycling Corridors. This would be a drop in the ocean of a $1.55b project. Yet again, it seems like the new premier is making foolish cuts to projects out of desperation to cling to power. 🧵

Screenshot from a news item dated 10 September 2026. Headline reads "Major bike route dropped from Freeway project"
Top decorative image shows a satellite view of the road corridor, with housing estates south of the road and a service station and grassland north of the road.
Bottom shows the freeway corridor highlighted in yellow and labelled "Project corridor" on a grayscale map of the Melton-Caroline Springs area.

Lower emissions and lower bills - everybody wins!

My love and condolences to Tim's family, friends and all who are grieving him. The profound impact of his work improving the health of not just our community and environment, but also our democracy, is a lasting and vital legacy.

Tim brought wisdom, calm consideration and gentle humour to everything he did. He was a brilliant and dedicated local representative for his community in Brunswick. A beloved, dependable and cheeky member of our Victorian Greens team.
