Subpoena power? Not exactly. Acquittal means freedom? Nope. A few unusual things that came up last month in the longest running capital case at Guantánamo Bay.

Breaking news: A military judge has thrown out yet another confession in the 9/11 case, ruled it was involuntary.
Ms. Blackburn’s complaint was full of political grievances. But beyond the bluster is a serious question of how far the speech or debate clause extends.

1. Alan Moore is singular tho 2. Marvel also did some interesting stuff that involved first selling what would be a graphic novel as a set of serialized issues, but not of "normal" pulp comics sold in the drug store. I'm thinking of Nick Fury v. SHIELD.

The claim "if X does not perjure himself there's no problem" describes a presumption-of-regularity world in which criminal referrals/DOJ investigations happen only in good faith. Fauci's lawyer presumably thinks that's not today's world. (I don't know what the limiting principle of this would be!)
Seeing people confused about Fauci taking the Fifth even though he was pre-emptively pardoned by Biden. Pardons only cover past conduct; they don't immunize future lawbreaking. Fauci's claim is Trump II DOJ would gin up a perjury investigation into him based on anything he says today.
