Some people need to learn the difference between enemies to lovers and bully romance. One of these is two people at odds with each other, with opposing goals, who stand on different sides of the same conflict. The other pulls your hair and calls you names. These are NOT the same thing.
Third place in the fifth Self-Published Science Fiction Competition (SPSFC) goes to Generations by @noamj.bsky.social. A "slow-burn conspiracy theory space opera" on a generation ship 80 percent of the way to a new home.
IT LOOKS LIKE YOU IN THE DARK by @mathildazeller.bsky.social 'it looks like you in the dark is a propulsive indigenous horror debut, expertly blending alaskan native folklore and supernatural thrills, from the author of the acclaimed short story "kushtuka" us.macmillan.com/books/978125...
Oh fuck yes, that was my absolute favourite from the first one! π
All I see is a little scientist studying gravity π
Like, please, take my taxes, I am begging, as long as they help other people who actually want this to have and raise kids. If someone saddled me with a child, I would turn into the witch from HΓ€nsel and Gretel within a week, and nobody wants that, least of all me π
Every now and again, I wonder just a little bit what my life would be like if I'd had kids. Then I meet a friend for breakfast and watch her tiny child scream unconsolably over not being allowed to take home the rocking panda from the playground and snap back to reality. Cute kid, no thanks ππ
I've got stories in two scary Itchio bundles as well:
Behold! A summer beauty. Photo from my collection no date/info.
Oh boy, is Mira in for a surprise... π

This is pure bad faith from MRMβthey are not new to this business and are perfectly aware this is all bullshit. These magazines essentially no longer exist: they were bought simply to use their reputations as a trap to suck IP out of writers and artists who don't know any better.
friday is for kafkaposting
I've lowkey started to pants a novel, and I've no clue if that's a good idea. I used to be able to do this, like knock out 15k words in a day, then fix the mess in another day. Which, yes, was under *very* different circumstances, but I miss it. *old lady voice* I just want to feel alive again...
Halloween costumes for birders. This is from last year and someone actually did the sexy owl pellet one.
I want you to understand that, if you continue to pretend these two flavours of "extremism" are anywhere near the same, or targeting the same people, you're part of the problem. You're a building block in what the right wants to be everyone's prison. If you keep pretending otherwise, bite me.
And by my description, you might notice that one of these is the actions of individuals. The other is systemic cruelty. So, dear journos, which one is worse: A burned Porsche, or banning trans people from using public restrooms to force a choice between gender dysphoria and de facto house arrest?
I need "journalists" to stop equating "extremism" from the left and the right sides of the spectrum. One side likes to torch luxury cars on Labour Day. The other side strips rights from minorities, legislates them out of public life, and sometimes straight-up kills them. These are NOT the same.
