So #wsocial fundamentally doesn't understand the dynamics about what makes social media safe or what should be kept private.
Milestone, we've hit our 10,000th PR on @divine.video
There is nobody who has played a bigger role in inventing marketing on social media than @garyvee.com. I sat down with him to talk about where we came from and how to understand the future in the era of AI.
Human made social media has a soul. This week we gathered amazing humans in new york to explore using the newest release of @divine.video. Look at what we created! This is so much better than AI slop chasing algorithmic reach!
This is a master class example of digital storytelling and visual exploration how data can be represented. Kyle has made something here which is Tufte level good.
Finally saw myself out here boooooiiiiii
That’s what you call having the right to install software of your choice on the hardware you own?
India thinks they can stop us with #bitchat by removing it from the appstore.
But at least on android the bitchat app has the ability for you to directly send the full apk of the app via bluetooth from one user to another. It's also open source, so we're seeing a flood of compatible apps.
A couple years ago i got frustrated with 1password, they have some sketchy business practices and weird relationship to open source / self hosting. So i tried bitwarden... well it's just not so good, switching back to 1password, it's gotten better. Frustrating when the tech is so good it overrides
Shocking, Sam Altman and OpenAI haven't been ethical or responsible in terms of AI safety.
Let's clearly setup a system by which they promise to hold back, but Sam Altman skipped the whitehouse let's be responsible and hold back session, to announce a ton of new releases.
Auckland Wayne Brown wants to promote startups in Auckland and then goes to say the reason Auckland is a good spot to do it is Auckland's a beautiful place to be rich and retire. He clearly knows nothing about why tech founders create startups. #nzpol thespinoff.co.nz/partner/28-0...
yeah i'm super confused about how incredibly boring campaign signs are in NZ.
@joelmacmanus.bsky.social Yes we need internet regulation in New Zealand, but Australia is the last place we should look. We should create regulation based on science and good public policy, not random hunches funded by right wing foundations using moral panics.
Why don't NZ campaign signs have slogans or say much of anything but the name of the politician, a photo, and their party!? #nzpol What are they trying to accomplish?
This is how you know that New Zealand has nobody really inspiring people when it comes to this election.

The MMP and list system both makes the parties stronger than the informal coalitions that exist in US city government and also provide a home for many more ideologies and constituencies under their own independent party structures. Very different from STV systems.
I know immigrant entrepreneurs who give up on relocating here permanently after getting permanent residency for these rules and also the way foreign investment rules make it functionally impossible to grant startup stock options to kiwi's.
Just in October i'm going to have to fly back and forth to the US twice, instead of staying for an extra week between two conferences, just to keep myself eligible to become an NZ citizen. The rules are stupid and make NZ poorer and hurt the economy.
