For people asking why I haven’t been hosting Power and Politics:

One hour P&P tonight. Somehow the fibre cables that provide internet to CBC here got damaged in QC & near Ottawa. The team scrambled to do the show by hotspotting on cell phones & public wifi. They did a great job. But technical limitations made 2 hours impossible. Hopefully back to normal tomorrow

21 days before the 25th anniversary of September 11th, the United States imposes 50% tariffs on the country that gave its citizens refuge during the worst terrorist attack in US history.

The problem is with our internet service provider. It’s a failure on their end. We lost all connectivity at CBC Ottawa that made it impossible to broadcast. Hopefully it’s fixed soon.

There is a significant technical failure here at CBC Ottawa. It means - for now - Power and Politics can’t get to air. CBC Toronto will cover for now as we hope to re-establish connectivity. It our very own “technical” recession.

Skipped hosting on Friday to accept this award on behalf of the incredible Power and Politics team. They are the best group of people you could ever hope to work with.

It’s been one day since the counting stopped. This is partisan nonsense. There is no replacement opposition leader. There is nobody waiting to move in. This is not an issue of national concern.

We didn’t even discuss Stornoway. So there was nothing to correct.

We are going to cover the issues and the ebbs and flows of the campaign and the issues as they emerge. That’s our job. The TVA debate has been an issue in Quebec. So we are going to cover that as warranted and all the other issues as they arise. You won’t like all of it. You will like some of it.
