Who knew the toe box would be such a problem! I have bunions, which I guess makes me 1000 years old, and have yet to find a toe box that works for me.

I... do not. I found it helpful in ensuring that classroom time was an opportunity to learn regardless of what happened outside the classroom. But I wasn't in the position of trying to get students to do their homework.

This book is so smart and incisive and compassionate and free online! It has critique and practical tools! Everyone should read it!
The 12th(!) Gender Reveal grant cycle is now open for applications! As always, these funds are for organizing / community projects led by trans people of color. We are particularly interested in funding existing projects that materially support trans folks, queer people of color, immigrants, etc.
This worked great for me with mlis students! I’ve also assigned annotations to serve a similar purpose, when the reading is a pdf and that’s easy to do
I’ve done co-reading during class time, including reading passages aloud or just sitting and reading together.
