Missed it by a day, but it was 62 glorious years ago, on October 7, 1964 that first made for TV movie aired. See How They Run is a wonderful international thriller about a trio of kids who are on the run after their father's murder. It's excellent, and deserves a home video release.
He didn't. That's basically what he told me about his time on set, but it would make sense. He said he spent most of the shoot in his hotel room!
I spoke to A. Martinez about this episode and he mostly talked about how great Ricardo Montalban was. They'd been in a couple of things together. Martinez was actually pretty sick when filming and said Montalban was very attentive and always warm.
I've made it my life's work to turn people on to Lottery (and hopefully get it out on DVD/Blu Ray). I was feeling so down today and someone posted on fb about this show, and off I went. haha A healthy distraction of cute boys and uplifting vintage television. A perfect combo.
On this day in Horror History, TERROR TRAIN was released in 1980.
This was such a glorious time for cable. I discovered Bravo around this time and was the only teenager I knew watching foreign films daily.
Here's a peek at some of the extras I produced for Iconoscope's newest release, The Stranger Within (1974). Brandon and I worked SO hard on this, and I feel that as a TV movie fan myself, we put together a really wonderful package. I hope you think so too! I'm just so excited about it. And proud!
So hard but a beautiful goodbye. I'm so sorry.
Really excited to announce that Iconoscope's next release - the classic 1974 tele-thriller The Stranger Within - is available for preorder! I produced many of the extras, and you can get all the info at the link below:
One of the underrated greats of regional filmmaking. Love this man and his films.
Oh no, Ken. I'm so sorry. Sending love. And I think we brothers in arms right now (unfortunately). I have a sick cat at home that isn't going to get better. Just spend as much time with your little one as you can. Take care.
There might be an Iconoscope release in there, and I'm very excited about it!
"It is easy to dismiss these productions as second-class due to the stigma of telefilms, but there is a unique artistry to them that we enjoy sincerely. This is a prime example of how to do one very well."
-Very nice review of Death of a Cheerleader:
On this day in Horror History, CARNIVAL OF SOULS was released in 1962.
A great local promo for one of my favorite made for TV movies, Night Terror! What are some of your favorite TVM promotions?
Geek Vibes Nation gives Iconoscope's release of the 2002 horror TVM Disappearance a glowing review in both this text version and a video (which is embedded in the article). He loves the restoration and gives a much appreciated shout out to the commentaries!

Thank you! ❤️
👀 This gorgeous set is blowing my mind, and I am thrilled to say that I am contributing 6 commentary tracks (3 with my ride-or-die podcast partner @dannyslacks1.bsky.social). Drooling over this! What a beautiful release for a truly wonderful television series.
