Back at the pub that inspired the post below and apparently it's still an issue.

How much what?

@boakandbailey.bsky.socialOct 14, 2026, 7:10 PM

Only a few places, most of them in London, only for a week or so

Reader, I missed* the train *Deliberately decided to get a later one.

Heart legitimately stopped when I saw it.

We've never had it on draught before. John Keeling posted a list of which pubs had ordered it last week, and I happened to be in the right place at the right time.

I'm the sort of ageing beer geek who gets excited when there's a new version of Duvel, and I probably always will be. New blog post: thebeernut.blogspot.com/2026/10/yes-...

More Zoigl-ing today in the Oberpfalz. I'm not sure how it has taken 10 years of living in Germany for me to visit this region.

High tables are the worst of all worlds.

It was definitely a big feature of student pubs (eg the long-long Green Room) in early-2000s Toronto, where they had *definitely* come from skips. And I really liked it!

... it may just be me although when I'm there the other people who sit on the couches are older folk, both men and women, and dog people! Every pub is different as are we all, but I'd hate to lose 'my' sofa now. Great piece by the way, I do love a bit of mild obsession! It's quite cathartic. Cheers!

What you've done there is reply to headline instead of reading the post.

Fine for a Pall Mall club, a bit weird in a pub.

BLOG POST: “We’re not fans of sofas in pubs. We sink into them, they make us drowsy, and they make us feel as if we’re at home. Not in the sense of homeliness; as in, why did we bother coming out?”
