Terrible day in Ukraine with Russia murdering dozens, including children. 30 dead so far in Kramatorsk alone (thankfully, our team relocated). Instead of sharing more images of the horror, I will share one of the humanity Ukraine embodies—rescuers saving a cat from the rubble. 😢

Even under attack, Ukraine’s gas stations are the best in the world. Of course they are wearing bow ties serving up Nathan’s hot dogs. 🌭

Caturday lunch at a new feeding station installed thanks to the generous support of NAFO Cats Division! 🙏 This is in the southern Ukrainian city of Ochakiv on the Black Sea. Putin wants the city, saying Ochakiv is a “place of Russian glory”—and bombs civilians here regularly.

Lunchtime Hachiko food delivery to the dogs of Izium in eastern Ukraine. 🐕 Although Izium was liberated in 2022, it’s very dangerous once again with regular Russian bombing. Look at the building these dogs are living in. 💔

This Ukrainian cat in the village of Olzhyne in Kherson region has become a guardian of the Hachiko feeding station we installed there. And thanks to Dre (a supporter’s rescue cat) for sponsoring this station! 🙏

New feature at a supermarket in Ukraine:

Today, our All Hands & Hearts team in Nepal made it into Devighat, a town along the river, where the flood/mud came up 100 feet. Many buildings were simply washed away. We are supporting local authorities with rescue supplies, as well as helping displaced families. It’s devastating.

Evacuation of 30 animals from the Donetsk region of Ukraine, supported by the Hachiko team. Dogs 🐶, cats 🐈 — even a peacock 🦚 and turtle 🐢. You can see the drone netting, but it’s still incredibly dangerous here as the Russians find a way to get through and kill civilians.

Happy Birthday to Jinx, who turns 11 years old today! He’s still the sweetest and runs downstairs to greet me whenever I return home. 💚

Happy International Cat Day from the Ukrainian cat with the biggest eyes I’ve ever seen. This is a frontline animal shelter in Chuhuiv outside Kharkiv run by Tetiana, who has 120 cats here! Alyona from our Hachiko team has been delivering food to help, as Chuhuiv is bombed often.

These Ukrainian kitties were excited about the delivery of Felix cat food to our friend @eugenekibets.bsky.social who runs the Cats on Mars shelter. He started rescuing cats during the invasion of Kyiv in 2022 and hasn’t stopped since. We will keep doing everything we can to help Eugene’s efforts!

After the recent russian missile attack on an apartment building in Lviv, our Hachiko team was there to support. We met Natasha, who cared for 16 Ukrainian cats—2 died. Her home was destroyed & she’s now living in temporary housing. We brought food for her traumatized kitties. 🥺

This McDonald’s in La Guaira, Venezuela has been turned into a veterinary clinic for earthquake survivors and I’m lovin’ it. 🥹 This dog’s name is Brando.

This week, we organized a special meal to bring the restaurant experience to kids in Gaza—here’s Chef Hamada in action! And of course, the team also fed the cats. 😸 We will do this regularly to provide some joy and dignity to children living in Gaza camps.

Pets are also being impacted by the war in Lebanon, so our Hachiko team from Ukraine is helping with food & building feeding stations. This video is from Saida, Lebanon where our friends met these displaced dogs—a mother with her puppies. Pet shelters are all full due to the war.
