Back home again and the skies cleared up last night, for the first time since I bought my new telescope. After spending 30min failing to get any images at all, I removed the lens cap. This was my first shot.

Yeah, I saw that comparison. I think I have the right kit for me. Planets are an issue though, would have been nice to get good images of them. When the clouds finally clear I’ll post some images.

I bought myself an S50 Pro just last week and we’ve had cloudy skies ever since then. I can’t wait to try it out.

Just got to the airport heading to GCAP. I think I have finally got all the content and slides sorted for my talk on Tuesday. All I need to do now is read it a few times.

To be clear, I'll be struggling with the pressure of a 30min timezone change. Those half hour changes can be dangerous.

GCAP people! I'm heading to Boatbuilders for pre-GCAP drinks if anyone wants to meet up there. I should be there from 6 on Sunday evening. It closes at 9, but if there's interest we can kick on somewhere else after that. Everyone is welcome, of course. Don't make me cure my jetlag alone.

Sorry - I have no idea. I'm leaving on the 8th as I'm only there for GCAP.

zero day presentation patch

GCAP next week. I'm presenting a talk on Tuesday. I've still not finished my rough draft. Why am I like this?

I just picked up my first smart telescope (well, first real telescope of any form) and snapped a shot of the only star I could see at that moment, wistfully thinking about tonight. Now the clouds have rolled out and are likely to stay for the next few days. Typical.

Not GDC. GCAP FFS. I also did some GDC gatherings but I meant GCAP.

I did a few pre GDC gatherings in years gone. DisUnity was a fun one. So, this year, its me, Jason and Dan. All the best people! (Honestly, I'd be fine with that). We should set a place and time and put the word out and see what happens.
