Is this just the result of calling things out that need to be called out? Am I just unpleasant to be around? I dunno! I don't think people like being criticized, and I think I like criticizing people. I don't wanna come off as someone who's fueled by resentment, though.

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 12, 2026, 4:36 AM

Just don't want to be embarrassed every time someone looks at me like I am right now. It feels like for every friend I've made doing this, I've come off as too aggressive or strange to someone else where I didn't need to.

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 12, 2026, 4:31 AM

It's not like this is going to be my main gig any time soon, but it still feels like I spend more time on it than anything else and should treat it more seriously. I have a writing degree, and the last short story I actually wrote was so I could better contextualize Dress Down in my head.

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 12, 2026, 4:19 AM

OK I've said this multiple times, but I'm going to try to be a bit more selective with what I post here now. I got people I actually respect following me for some reason, so I don't think I need my gamedev account to also be my "every stray thought" account.

I haven't posted my strawpage in a while

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 12, 2026, 3:41 AM

Imagine spending years developing a serious narrative about the complicity of "good men" in the face of sexual violence towards women and someone's on your Twitter posting shit like this

a tweet from wrong organ. it shows jimmy from mouthwashing edited to look sad and shy with the caption "He's sowwyyyyyy 🥺🥺"
@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 12, 2026, 3:33 AM

Every time I see something about Mouthwashing I'm reminded that whoever was put in charge of running PR and securing merch deals for it should not have been allowed anywhere near that fucking game

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 11, 2026, 2:15 AM

I referenced this in conversation the other day because I thought it was a well-known screenshot that had spread through multiple social media sites and not a random Bluesky post with 4 reposts

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 10, 2026, 5:18 PM

Sometimes you just don't need a snappy comparison for whatever point you're trying to make. Just say your piece and quit embarrassing yourself, please

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 10, 2026, 5:10 PM

Like do maybe you wanna also talk about the infinitely powerful billionaires who conspired to make trans women sex slaves? The fact that transphobia's a decades-old problem? What are we saying here

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 10, 2026, 5:10 PM

There are a lot of ways to hate AI without being complete dipshits, guys. We're really not at the point of throwing in "Most people think trans people marginalized themselves by being weird, but my theory is that they marginalized themselves for DIFFERENT reasons."

ACTUALLY DOING FALSE FRUIT NOW. I had a chip on my shoulder about having to leave Hawktober Horrors 2025, so I really wanted to submit something for it this year. The next jam I want to participate in isn't for months, though!! False Fruit!!!!!!

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 10, 2026, 5:09 AM

I'm really just trying to explain how you're coming off. I posted this because I participate in game jams. I enjoy meeting people through them. It's rude and ignorant to dismiss the idea that anyone could be doing them for "pure" reasons when there are entire online cultures surrounding them

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 10, 2026, 4:12 AM

Like, this was about like one team full of industry professionals that I saw in a jam months ago. I don't see why it would matter if someone is trying to add to their portfolio. They're creating something, who cares what they do with it? It doesn't stop them from engaging with others or their art.

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 10, 2026, 4:12 AM

Game jams come in enough shapes that I don't think you can earnestly say they're useful for "viral marketing." I've participated in a lot, and the only reward most people expected was fostering relationships with other devs. This really betrays the fact that you don't engage with these communities.

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 10, 2026, 2:48 AM

I don't really think this is true at all

This isn't a real moral position that I think would hold up under a lot of scrutiny lol I just don't like the vibe of standing next to those projects

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 9, 2026, 6:47 PM

People who happen to know each other from a lot of game dev experience: Cool who cares Professionals who seek out other professionals, have applications open for the jam, etc. so they know in advance they're going to rank highly: COME ONNNNNNNN

@brittlelizard.itch.ioOct 9, 2026, 1:34 PM

I know this is going to sound incredibly stupid, but I really don't like when people form game jam teams to win a game jam
