Happy Thanksgiving, Calgary!

Should Danielle Smith be able to order your local council to vote to approve rezoning for a massive AI data centre? And threaten to fire your democratically elected mayor if they vote against it? This latest provincial overreach isn't about density. It's about your legal right to a fair hearing.

With the latest provincial overreach, Danielle Smith is now ordering me how to vote at Calgary City Council. If I refuse, I risk losing my job. I want to work constructively with the province, even when we disagree. But we must be free to listen to residents and make fair decisions.

There is no place for Islamophobia, threats or intimidation in our city. We must stand united against hatred, and those responsible must be held accountable.

An attack on one faith community is an attack on all of us. Every child deserves to feel safe at school. Every family deserves to feel safe practising their faith.

Threatening to murder Muslim children. Telling Muslim families to leave Canada. This is absolutely sickening. My heart is with the students, families and staff at MAC Islamic School. I'm grateful to the faith leaders standing shoulder to shoulder with Calgary's Muslim community today.

They're helping families, mentoring kids, supporting seniors, and looking after neighbours when times get tough. But City Hall hasn't always made it easy. Our new agreement with the Nonprofit Chamber changes that.

By the time we welcome our two-millionth neighbour, let's make Calgary the best city in Canada to be a volunteer. It's time to recognize Calgary's volunteers and voluntary sector as essential infrastructure. We have over 7,000 charities and nonprofits doing incredible work.

Antisemitism is rising, and we cannot wait for another attack before acting. Calgary must lead from the local level. An attack on any of us is an attack on all of us.

I’m not going to lie to you, Calgary. Our water pipes are in piss poor condition. After a ten-year freeze on bills, we have to increase our water rates to prevent another catastrophe and make our system safe and reliable.

They preach "Alberta First" while promising the Americans our water, oil, and land. I joined Edmonton's Mayor Andrew Knack on CBC's Power & Politics to call out the hypocrisy of the Alberta separatist movement. You don’t defend Alberta by putting our province up for sale to the United States.

We need to talk about the separatists selling out our city and province. MAGA operatives came to Calgary to help carve up our country. Meanwhile, separatist leaders went to Washington promising our water, our oil, and our land. If you want to live in the United States, move to the United States.
