@evillucario.bsky.socialIn my experience with Abyss and Berseria, the party implementation felt like any other action RPG so I dunno. Maybe the big combo videos can use them in a more interesting way?
@evillucario.bsky.socialFeels like turn-based games are still the most effective way to make gameplay around multiple different characters on the field at once. Action games all have concessions to make extra characters on the field work in a way turn-based games generally don't, and if good succeed in spite of the party.
@evillucario.bsky.socialIs there a good example of a party-based action RPG that actually uses the party in a good, cohesive way? At the moment my two examples are FF7 Remake and Xenoblade 3, which still relies on the AI and swapping characters. Feels like they're all still behind turn-based games in this specific field.
