Perhaps the path to human-level AI being taken by AI companies is not to make more capable AI, but to drag humans down to the level of AI.
Twinings too fancy? Then you're probably drinking Bushells.
Yorkshire Tea is stocked, but I've never seen anyone drink it. We're a Twinings by default country.
It is an alright brew but I wouldn't write home about it.

I'm attracted to new CSS and web things to play with like a moth to a flame.

Thanks. I was doing the exact same, but I was using YAML rather than JSON. Can't wait to see your implementation.
You absolutely should write your own post with your thoughts. I'd love to read it.
If you aren't aware, you can enable a tabbed ribbon interface in LibreOffice. I much prefer the ribbon when using the suite myself.
A few years old, but I noted how to do so here: vale.rocks/posts/the-ul...
I can get where you're coming from, but Microsoft have invented and popularised so many computing concepts it is somewhat of a moot point. They've inarguably had some good ideas over the decades.
Nathan has written a full post arguing against Microsoft's ribbon interface pattern, disputing some of the arguments I made in my recent post in favour of the ribbon and arguing some new points against the menu style. It is worth a read (even if he is wrong 😉). A fresh blogging war has begun.
In response to my post and in opposition to the ribbon, Nathan has written a lengthy and scathing post that is worth a read: nathansnelgrove.com/2026/10/the-...
Do other CodePen embeds elsewhere on other sites work for you?
You've got that right. Certainly not how it should appear. Thanks for letting me know. I can't replicate it in any browser my side. Is it possible you're using an extension or filter that is blocking parts of CodePen's iframe contents? What browser and browser version are you using.
Of course, I've documented the implementation a slight bit too: vale.rocks/posts/the-im...
Vale.Rocks already showed my @codepen.io pens in the firehose, but with CodePen's new fully featured REST API v2 I've made some improvements. My site now shows all my pens directly on my site with their own dedicated pages. I love open APIs!
Love this! Can’t wait to write my own post disagreeing. But kudos to Declan for holding strong to the Hot Take!
Well played, sir.

I cannot stress how long it takes to collect screenshots for something like this. So many versions of Windows and so many versions of Office. If I didn't have disks burnt and ready to go it'd have taken even longer. They do look sharp though.
