(not) solitaire — Puzzmo made a "massively passively multiplayer solitaire," coincidental to Nolen Royalty's similar project

I played (not) solitaire for more hands than I would care to admit. “A multiplayer game where the multiplayer was about companionship, empathy, and comfort, instead of competition or even interaction.” [notsolitaire.com]

We are still seeing how it goes over time and talking about possibilities

@stfj.netOct 16, 2026, 2:24 PM

We added an option to limit your own plays per day if that is helpful

400+ concurrents on notsolitaire.com - pretty wild to see so many folks playing. P.s. you can change your avatar by clicking on an emoji from an achievement you've unlocked.

Thanks!

Ah sorry! We’re exploring some other experiences too! We’re currently considering putting in a deal limiter per day for people who would get use out of that kind of thing

Try your best to hang onto your flipflop skills a few more weeks 😎

@stfj.netOct 14, 2026, 3:37 PM

Not at present but it makes a great pwa

@stfj.netOct 14, 2026, 3:36 PM

It’s a lot! I took some inspiration there from a game called RNGdle that really impressed me. I was going to write about it in the note but it didn’t quite fit in

@stfj.netOct 13, 2026, 8:49 PM

holy moly y'all got 11,000 wins and 180,000 achievements in the first 4.5 hours. solitaire is alive and well in 2026 ♥️🫡

Welcome back to the week, for folks who might have missed it. I've been working on allowing 3rd party games on @puzzmo.com this year and we're opening the doors just an inch to test the waters for this week

New blog post: On realising I need to evaluate my engineering principles in a post-LLM world

This year, I've come to understand that the values (which have paid off incredible dividends) for the last decade aren't as applicable today as they were

blog.puzzmo.com/posts/2026/0...

A screenshot of my blog post masthead, it reads:

A link I have relied on for the last 8 years broke:

<https://github.com/artsy/README/blob/main/culture/engineering-principles.md>

The link was a markdown document in Artsy's shared open-source documentation repo, it was the result of a few introspective sessions by the Artsy dev team where we settled on a series of principles that describe our general approach to software. I used the link in blog posts, hiring notices and in private chats a bunch.

Here's [the fixed link btw](https://github.com/artsy/README/blob/e4b7dff3209b43f4ab63bad919f2500972aade1b/culture/engineering-principles.md) because it's a git repo. I think the removal of the engineering principles isn't some ominous mark against the current day Artsy dev team, but I wonder if they just spotted a cultural change before I noticed it.
