Libraries are at the heart of strong communities. They connect our neighbors to knowledge, resources, and opportunities that help families thrive. The opening of the new Elk Grove Library is a testament to what we can accomplish when local leaders, community partners, and residents work together.

From protecting billions in federal broadband investments to strengthening programs that help families afford internet service, I'm focused on making sure every Sacramento resident can get connected.

I've spent years working to expand high-speed internet access, lower monthly bills, and connect neighborhoods and rural communities that have been left behind.

ICE is beyond reform. We must tear it down and build an immigration system rooted in due process, human dignity, and the rule of law.

A man was shot in the neck by an ICE agent on a New York City street, with a five-year-old child sitting in the backseat. This is beyond horrifying and yet another example of this rogue agency’s unconstitutional recklessness. We need an independent investigation and full accountability. 🧵

Sacramento is strongest when every neighbor has a safe place to sleep and a real path toward stability. I secured $1 million in federal funding for the Florin Road Safe Stay to improve restrooms and showers and create permanent outdoor community space. 🧵

So happy to celebrate my dear friend Shonna McDaniels at the ONYX Awards. For 30 years, Shonna has led the Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum, preserving Sacramento’s Black history and creating a home for generations of artists and students. Congratulations to all the honorees!

Congress must act on regulating AI — now. That’s why I’ve been working with my colleagues to introduce legislation that protects our national security, our jobs, and our children. We can lead on AI innovation while putting the safeguards in place to keep Americans safe.

Getting around Sacramento should be easier, cleaner and more reliable. That’s why I’ve delivered more than $460 million for public transit, including new light rail stations and trains, low/zero-emission buses and better connections across our region. These investments keep Sacramento moving.

When kids can’t tell where technology ends and a real relationship begins, the stakes are too high to wait. Congress must act now to keep them safe.
