Bill Watterson (the genius behind Calvin and Hobbes) gave a commencement speech in 1990 and it's fantastic.

At this stage it doesn't matter to me if this guy is cosplaying. I want a person who talks like this and then promises to back it up to be the next president. If there's somebody who winds up being more convincing than him in the next year or so, I'll vote for that person instead.

I read this tweet in absolute horror. Reading to my kids is my absolute favorite part of the whole deal. There's nothing better than tucking in after a long day and sharing a story together. I'm already sad for the days when they'll be too old for me to read to them. You're robbing yourself, bud.

I wish people understood that TV writers: 1. *Have* actually thought more about this than even the most die hard fan. 2. Are beholden to time, money, and owner constraints that fans will never be aware of. 3. Are extremely likely to already be aware of any critiques because (see 1) but (see 2)
