Unhappy with the landscape of AION 2 DPS meters on Linux, I am now building my own DPS meter using Ratatui.
low key I‘ve been thinking Opus 5.5 is an Opus 4.5-level jump in practicality and accessibility. I’m a little surprised not to be hearing more people talk about this, but I guess it’s been less than three weeks. I expect to see a wave of non-programmers finding new use cases for agents
Need one of those puzzle travel cases and maybe a folding card table to put it on.
I guess it's mental health day? Burnout is real. Don't think you're immune to it, you're not. You likely won't know you're burned out until either you're at your breaking point or you're forced out of what's burning you out and all you feel is relief. Talking about it helps 🫂
I think about what this would have been like in the pre-LLM times. I likely would have spent an inordinate amount of time trawling through Google searches and forum/Reddit posts to come up with a potential fix.
After having Claude apply the change to my NixOS configuration and rebuilding it, I played all day yesterday without a single instance of the crash.
One issue that I was facing was a crash on the loading screen after teleporting somewhere.
It wasn't super frequent, and seemed to only happen a few hours into a play session.
I pointed Claude at the problem and it suggested trying out the `ntsync` kernel module:
I'm running it on NixOS and so far the results have been quite good. It's an Unreal Engine 5 game, so performance is not the best (even on Windows, as I understand it), but it's felt smooth despite me not being able to pull 60 FPS at 4k.
Been having a lot of fun playing AION 2 over the past few days!
When will I learn. When will I learn!

I think I've fully finished my mourning of coding, and now am fully accepting of the paradigm shift. CS has always been about automation. I enjoyed writing code, but my goal with everything was always to write *less* code. We've always heralded laziness as a virtue. The lazy will inherit the world
this folding frame was worth every dollar I spent at the antique store to get the world's greatest video call backdrop
Will I find a “Merge (squash)” hiding behind that chevron? 👀
