Which at least is vaguely accurate. Pronouncing it "grah" is the same kind of overcorrection that leads tennis commentators to pronounce "Monfils" as "Monfee".

Anyone know who decided to start pronouncing "coup de grâce" as "coup de gras" in English, i.e. without the "ace" sounded like it should be in French? I'm hearing it everywhere! Please let me know so that I can insert a Petit Robert* in them. (*Which a US colleague of mine calls "Little Bob" 😍)
