I generally don’t post about political stuff much b/c reasons. I’m very political, just not here. (Unless it’s uplifting trans & queer-positive stuff. I will post that stuff constantly. It’s my art account, I art! 💜🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈💜)

How about a little slice of life in the studio? Haven't done that in quite some time. Was really in flow state making these drippy granulated watercolor textures for a while. I wish the red red didn't wig out my phone camera so much, it looks better in person.

For sure. Some years ago I thought to myself "I need to be prepared to be kicked out of tech by the time I'm 55". Turns out, I was 10 years off! I mean, who knows, I could have a job next week, but it's been dire for a while, and I hear the same from other colleagues.

Interest in computers at 4, got a Commodore at 7, the computer teacher in HS said I was his star student, B.S. Computer Science degree in 2000. Didn't have a concrete plan, just "writing software". Luckily nowhere evil. But been out of work for 3+ years and wondering if that career is over.

If anyone wants to chip in a couple bucks to cover Ryu's theater club fees for this season, that'd help tons. I literally don't have the $50 due right now 😅 And being on the stage crew is their Happy Place. Tips on ko-fi or cshapp if you prefer. But I'd REALLY like some commission requests 👉👈

Tip: Whenever I need to illustrate something more mechanical, I'll sometimes do a rough model of it in Tinkercad first. Even simple 3d can be a powerful tool in your artist's kit. Here's the blocking for a magical crossbow I'm working up.
