Yeah, you're not supposed to use gil to exchange for something that has monetary value, its in the realm of RMT! The answers aren't SUPER clear from my own research but its a 'better safe than sorry' personal threshold for me. BUT if discussed outside of the game, they can't really prove it either.

It... iiiis against TOS to offer gil for art, too, but if its something you discuss outside of the game... up to your sense of risk.

A large house ingame is like 40-50 mil depending on the spot and they often get LOADS of bids, regardless of preferable location (emp or gob compared to LB or shiro). If you're worried about not getting work because you're pricing yourself too high, its something you kind of have to feel out urself

During Shadowbringers were was a levequest 'exploit' involving Coffee Biscuits that shifted the economy a bit because it was very easy to make raw gil. I personally have about 20 mil though I don't often buy things like hair or mounts that would take a large chunk of it and play pretty casually.
