@alleycatallies.bsky.socialThe TNR work in the city has only grown from there, and we're proud to have helped guide and support it. There's a lot more ahead to create a ripple effect of lifesaving change in the area, but today was another step!
You can still get involved on Global Cat Day! Join us at alleycat.org.
@alleycatallies.bsky.socialWe also brought wet food to provide more support to caregivers. It's always a pleasure to be back in the Granite Shoals area. In 2023, we spoke out against a discussion of lethal control of community cats, amplifying the voices of local advocates. In 2024, we helped the city adopt a TNR ordinance!
@alleycatallies.bsky.socialToday was a big day protecting the cats of Granite Shoals, Texas, in honor of #GlobalCatDay and #NationalFeralCatDay! 🌎🐈
We held a Global Cat Day #TNR clinic with the Hill Country Humane Society, with Alley Cat Allies covering the costs of all surgeries, vaccinations, and any other needed care.
@alleycatallies.bsky.socialHappy Global Cat Day & National Feral Cat Day! 🌎🐈
We're calling on people worldwide to go out and help cats in their communities on the biggest day of advocacy and action for cats.
Donating is a great place to start--your gift will be 2X-MATCHED ➡️ secure.alleycat.org/page/103097/...
@alleycatallies.bsky.socialTomorrow, we'll be in even more locations to protect cats and kittens! How are YOU planning to take action for cats on Global Cat Day and National Feral Cat Day--October 16? Learn how to join in at GlobalCatDay.org.
@alleycatallies.bsky.socialNot only are we providing access to care that makes a difference, but we also stocked the group's food bank with wet cat food for the community! These are the resources that mean so much to the people caring for cats every single day.
@alleycatallies.bsky.socialGlobal Cat Day and National Feral Cat Day are TOMORROW, but our team got started early with an on-the-ground action in honor of the occasion! 🌎🐈
In Maryland, Alley Cat Allies covered the cost of spay and neuter and #TNR for cats this week in collaboration with A Cat's Life Rescue!
@alleycatallies.bsky.social🌎 TAKE AN ACTION to help cats, like doing #TNR, building an outdoor cat shelter, and more. Be sure to POST your action with #GlobalCatDay and #NationalFeralCatDay.

@alleycatallies.bsky.social🇵🇷 Down in Puerto Rico, Llorin enjoys lazy days in the sun. He and community cats like him are part of the culture and community. 🐈
And if not for our action, Llorin and his feline family would have been killed.

@alleycatallies.bsky.social☀️ Though temperatures reach well over 100 degrees Fahrenheit for much of the year, Guy and community cats like him are very much at home. They snooze beneath bushes in the hottest hours of the day and explore as the sun sets. 🌵

@alleycatallies.bsky.socialSince that day, he has known nothing but love and comfort, including the companionship of other cats who welcomed him into their space. We'll never get tired of sharing Neo updates, or of seeing that sweet face and knowing how far he's come! We hope he inspires you the way he inspires our team. 💙
@alleycatallies.bsky.socialWe all have our scars. Neo's, across his nose, doesn't just speak to what he's been through, but to the power of access to care and your compassion and generosity. 🐈⬛ With your support, we could provide Neo with lifesaving medical care and surgery to repair what was once a large wound on his face.

@alleycatallies.bsky.socialFurther, we offered our assistance with future animal cruelty cases. Strong sentences should be the norm, not the exception, for the sake of cats' well-being and us all. The link between violence toward animals and violence toward humans is established.

@alleycatallies.bsky.socialA strong penalty for cruelty to cats reflects the severity of the crime and sends a message that no act of animal cruelty will be tolerated. That is why Alley Cat Allies reached out to the prosecutor in gratitude for the record animal cruelty sentence of Rodney Travis Jr. in VA: 15 years in prison
@alleycatallies.bsky.socialBoardwalk Cat River doesn't know why there are suddenly pumpkins in his space. He doesn't seem to mind! 😸🎃
