AI has killed entry level jobs. Just remember AI can't reason and can't come up with new or novel concepts. If you're not hiring and training new people, your business is going to become stagnant and will never innovate. The current senior level people aren't going to be around forever.

Everything is getting more expensive. Gas is between $3.89 and $3.99. Streaming services are more expensive (or I have to watch commercials). My grocery bill each week is ridiculous. If Trump makes the economy any "better" I'm going to have to get another job! Oh, wait there are no jobs!

AI coding assistants are the equivalent of junior developers. The industry need to continue to invest in junior developers so they can recognize patterns and anti-patterns in the code and become seniors. Senior devs need to make the effort to build up junior devs, and companies need to support them.

I gave Google Gemini a complex coding task and it did a pretty good job. After reviewing the code I had it generate a unit test. I noticed a flaw in the code and added a few lines to break the test. Google Gemini then refactored the code and fixed it.

Google Gemini is a very capable AI assistant. I give it a small chunk of code to write and it does it. I give it tasks similar to what I would give a junior developer.

Netbeans is hands down a better Java IDE than Visual Studio Code. The only thing missing is an AI plugin. I tried Anahata, but it kept failing saying not enough tokens.
