I suppose that’s one way of looking at it… on the other hand, though, playing a morally complex villain is fun!

For years, Lindsey tried. She thought she was rebelling against her family, thought she was *different*, thought she could embrace the supposed ideals of Zootopia - inclusion, acceptance, tolerance, egalitarianism... but something broke her. Something revealed what was underneath.

It's a clashing of worldviews and entire core values. The whole way Sam experiences the world is that truth is important and morally good, moreso than allegiance to people - even people you care about. Lindsey's worldview is that her family's success is important above all else. Even truth.

Friends and enemies can change. Just because you set yourself against someone doesn't mean you always will. More to the point, Sam never considered herself Lindsey's enemy! Merely allegiant to the truth, and her crime in Lindsey's eyes was telling the truth about her family.

This might be my favorite. I’ve pretty much said some version of it several times throughout my life.
