Ha! Would be nice. We need to ensure "join the EU" is in the next (2029?) manifestos - and that those parties promising it get a majority of votes in that GE -- then it's game on for negotiations on bringing back a deal, very likely referendum - and then ratifications.

That's the plan! Just starting with Andy Burnham's 10-year framework here - then hoping to tighten it from there.

4) 2032 hold ref (6 months process for debate on the deal. EU will v likely demand a ref) - if that passes, then needs a few years of accession processes and also ratification by all members. 5) 2034-6 UK back in.

It’s not 10 years to start… …it’s starting now. 1) NOW - make the case in all parties. Govt pursues close alignment, maybe FOM already. 2) 2029 - Rejoin in manifestos. Notify EU. If Lab/LD/Green win - open accession talks immediately. 3) 2031/2 - A negotiated deal returns… needs a ref
