Russia has been at war with Britain for years and the EU referendum was an open goal which they exploited. That doesn't mean that "Putin made Brexit happen" but his troll farms and media operations certainly played a part Brexiters may hate to hear it but to deny it is to deny a dangerous reality.

Yes back four compliment each other well but we have a good blend across the age groups in the team which is important in L2

I doubt that the small amount of oil Putin will spare will affect the markets or the price of fuel in the US much at all. That will require either regime change in Iran or Trump to back down and offer concessions to Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and tell their Houthi proxies to stand down.

Kemi Badenoch’s flagship party conference policy document overestimated the cost of net zero by nearly £500bn…

…seemingly after someone accidentally double-counted figures on a spreadsheet.

So what this week has taught us is that the Conservative offer is to: - prioritise the wealthiest - blow up the public finances

The utter shamelessness of Kemi Badenoch boasting at Conservative party conference about 'defending press freedom' and berating Reform for banning critical journalists from their conference, just days after banning Byline Times journalists from her own

Paying taxes is punishment is it? Some might say it's a contribution to the infrastructure and regulations (like the rule of law) that enables you to build a successful business and, being less transactional, your contribution to society..

My favourite Burton picture. Morecambe fans watching their team battle relegation a year or two back.

🥳 UK economy grew more than thought in the second quarter. • GDP +0.5% qq versus a previous estimate of +0.4% (same with GDP per head) • Strong business investment growth (see 👇) • Current account balance (exc. precious metals) smallest in 5 years at 1% of GDP thanks to services exports

This is quite cool. My university is the first organisation in the world to force Microsoft to allow us to turn off copilot summaries in Word 365, after a backlash against it from staff (including, very vocally, me). That cannot have been easy for our heroic IT people so hats very much off to them!
