The annoying thing is this is a day early from being extremely convenient timing. It gets cool at night starting tomorrow, so I would have turned off my AC. So it suddenly turning off wouldn't have been a problem. Unless I fix this tonight, fixing it will be so I can turn on heat when time comes

What is a good reason your wall thermostat could be not working. I mean it's just blank. Weirdly, the fan works. And when I changed the batteries, I realized the fan turned off and, it turned back on when I put it back in, so I don't think it's the batteries.
