I’m excited to speak at @fastly.com #Xcelerate NYC on October 14, joining Artur Bergman, Founder and CTO of #Fastly, on Building a Foundation for the AI Era.
We’ll discuss how AI-generated traffic is forcing a rethink of caching, security, and performance at scale.
I’ll be giving a talk at the NYC OSS security user group meetup on 11/4 about zizmor!
(Space will be limited, if you’re in NYC I would recommend signing up now.)
Seems like a job for Atom feeds vs LLM?
You probably should come to @fastly.com Xcelerate NYC this year. You might just see me and learn about some of the stuff I've been working on at the @python.org for @pypi.org.
Wednesday, October 14th, one day only!
🐍 Check out @sethmlarson.dev's talk at @europython.eu 2026: "Learning from the not-so-secret Python security 'cabal'". This talk is a deep dive into how CPython handles coordinated vulnerability disclosure, how the #Python security team is organized, & what it takes to run a disclosure program.
I wrote up a #PyPI incident report for some install-time issues experienced a few of weeks ago by some users, and what was changed.
(I picked City Digital, and typed in "UTC" in the selector.)

It was a solid reminder that taking a few minutes to frame the problem at hand, and then explore the marketplace for what has already been done, sample a few to see if they are good enough before building something from scratch.
I then started to fire up a terminal session to start building one, but then paused to look at the built-in widgets for something appropriate, and found a solution that was good enough, preventing me from actually building something bespoke, and then requiring my own attention to maintain it.
After I identified my need, I took a few minutes to search for existing solutions. I found a couple paid apps on the app store, and one open source one that was build in Objective-C that seemed popular, but I didn't like the look of it.
I was this close to starting to try and write my own macOS clock widget to display UTC under my regular clock, since I often forget the math to calculate UTC from whatever time zone I'm in (and whatever daylight savings offset there might be!).
NYC is definitely a vibe
