Farmworker Carlos Vargas Moreno suffered heatstroke on the job & now lives with a brain injury and disability. NC DOL investigators determined his employer wasn’t following its heat-safety plan and cited it for violations. Two years earlier, another worker for the same employer died from heatstroke.

Amazon will pay $8.25 million to settle allegations that thousands of customers in predominantly Black D.C. neighborhoods paid full price for Prime while receiving slower delivery service. Our communities deserve the same value for every dollar they spend.

A 23-year-old woman was reportedly left along an Orange County freeway by her Uber driver before she was fatally struck by a vehicle. An arbitrator has now ordered Uber and the driver to pay her parents $40 million, finding them liable for her death.

A Baltimore police officer accused of assaulting a man reportedly resigned in exchange for having assault and misconduct charges dropped. The officer allegedly shoved the man, causing him to fall down several stone steps. Resignation cannot become a substitute for ACCOUNTABILITY.
