It's also true that life in Monaco and Dubai is actually pretty boring if you enjoy any sort of culture

Interesting overlap with the discussion around Gregory Clark's latest manuscript at Econ Journal Watch (econjwatch.org/ancillary/bo...), which remains unpublished in part because of controversies over his claims about genetic inherintance.

Of all of the problems here this is perhaps the biggest one. The convergence of immigrant fertility to native-born fertility is documented over decades of research in demography. To assume no change over a century is something an undergrad would understand.

Ferrari's questions are pretty simple but they sound like award-winning journalism compared to the typical journalist these days

The 2027 ASEN Conference will take place from 13 to 15 April 2027 at Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj, Romania on 'Who Belongs to the Nation?' The call for papers is out now and is open until 15 November. Head to asen.ac.uk/conference for more info #asen2027

Conference poster with the large title “Who Belongs to the Nation?” and the subtitle “The 36th ASEN Conference • UBB, Cluj • 13–15 April 2027 • asen.ac.uk” over a pale handwritten background. Along the bottom are six color-tinted portraits of people in historical clothing and hats, arranged in a row.

On Britain's unique lack of a National Day, and why Magna Carta Day (June 15) should be the country's National Day elliottdgreen.substack.com/p/magna-cart...

In case people are not fully across the Fairford story: What appears to have happened is that five men from London went to a small country village in the middle of the night to siphon fuel for resale. In small country villages, people notice things, especially at 1am. A farmer called the police.

More to the point she should be asked about her own husband's Englishness.

The general Labour leadership attitude appears to be to treat the far right like they're a bunch of errant teenagers - let them have their fun and they'll eventually come back home for dinner.

Seems the difference between ‘protestors’ and ‘terrorists’ is that protestors wear balaclavas while terrorists hold placards.

Spotted outside Symphony Hall in Boston. What would Boris speak about in front of an American audience, one wonders? And, more pertinently, how much is he being paid?
