It's just sad.
Literally just today I saw multiple threads on r/experienceddevs & similar subs where theyre all just... drunk on the koolaid. Studies showing dangers are dismissed for being too old or small, ancedata rules, if you're not using it you're dumb, if it isn't helping you're using it wrong, etc.
I loathe the "superpower" view of developmental disabilities and certain psych illnesses. Yeah, it's such a superpower to experience overstimulation, to forget important things, to have trouble navigating human relationships, to burn out. It's shit, actually.
Chrome pushed Skia onto some crazy shit- multiple GPU implementations each with wild optimizations.
the vibecoded ports of everything are proliferating, it's a disaster, they're all awful and no one understands anything about them lol.
Pre-nuclear steel is a good analogy lmao
This one of a myriad of reasons I *really* don't trust vibecoded self-hosted software, or really just *new* self-hosted software, but especially software that the creator doesn't understand and can't maintain.
i wish the meta ai mascot was real so i could hunt and slaughter it
Moonpies are proof of a benevolent force in the universe.
got so mad at computer i couldn't sleep. not one single minute
Increasingly, I have seen folks who released music through GameChops distance themselves from the label and express a desire to re-distro outside of it. But there's a cost involved in that which many musicians may not be able to cover. So, fuck it, let me put my money where my mouth is.
Dang I'm out of the loop, didn't realize GameChops was up to this level of nonsense.
What the fuck
Like you be using Claude Code & leading edge models and paying out the nose to get anything remotely useful, and holy shit the amount of tokens it's gonna rip through is wild.
Well yeah, I mean, even if I loved the shit the amount of shadiness in the investments and the sheer weight of the amount of money tied up in this alone is cause for alarm.
What's impressive about it? It certainly isn't the product.
I'm saying the financials ain't kosher, and there is unprecedented amount of pressure to appear profitable and viable, even if it isn't.
It is, perhaps, a paranormal amount of pasta...
nevermind the fact that the result was ass. I'd have gotten more utility out of running a GPU benchmark and letting my cat sit on my computer for the warmth.
This is also maybe the first time where I thought I might be holding it wrong, especially for the local LLM use case. Qwen3.8 + pi/omp was just... shit. I asked it to *plan* a simple refactor and it churned and churned and eventually got stuck in a loop where it didn't realize it finished lmao.
