That IS true and as a Scandinavian I'm embarrassed that I'm not already using a viking axe for my butter and cheese.
The pendulum tends to really swing to extremes so you might be very correct on that one.
Haven't seen a cheese axe before but now I wonder if butterknife-axes are a thing.
These unnatural skeletons often have a kind of ossuary-like vibe to them, I think. My favourites are usually the ones of animals without skeleton at all, like those two or snails and such.
I feel like every year I see someone commenting how stupid and unrealistic these kinds of skeletons are so it's refreshing to see other people than myself liking them! (Though first mention of the season I saw was still an "ugh, these things again")
Really shiny! The contrasts between highlight and shadows! :o
Everything WOULD of course have to be done together with experts in several areas. Like, how do we build computer infrastructure without disturbing wild life? What sound frequencies are best for animals and plants? Things like that.
Personally, if for example old mines underground could be used as server rooms for different experimental softwares, I wouldn't mind. Developing infrastructure for that kind of structure is also useful. Even LLMs as such aren't bad per se, but that industry is all about a few getting rich.
Large server rooms etc, made with good planning and for good, communal causes, could be build in a better way and I think most would be fine with it. Stress build data centers just to try to raise value of a technology before it crashes? Like simply pouring concrete everywhere.
I think it could be compared to roads. We all want good roads. Even those who don't drive probably want ambulances and transport etc to work. Good roads are great. They are necessary in society as we live today. But we don't want roads everywhere if they don't even lead to anything.
I've seen people mention that data centers - or server halls or similar structures - have existed for decades and become more important as internet has grown. That we shouldn't make such a fuss about that kind of building because, again, nothing new. Which is true, I guess. But...
It's a pretty bird!
I was tempted to say people from some parts of America shouldn't answer (because of where the bird is native) but figured that could give it away xD I didn't know about this bird until just recently. Answer C is because in swedish, it's actually called a "boatbutt" (båtstjärt) xD
I wonder what international culture would look like if we traded large companies and publishers and the like for UBI and strong social safety nets.
I've seen some pretty big sweet potatoes but that one's huge!
Ouch! 😄
What is a Grackle? A. A goblin. B. A bird. C. A part of the back of a boat.
I used to believe that fiction was the fantastical and reality was the ordinary. But now I think fiction is the more structured one that works well with our human, limited brains while reality is the truly crazy one.
That's an interesting location for a christmas tree.
That's a pretty good example! Even though him being ugly is still a huge part of the story itself, but he is allowed to be fully competent and not made fun of from a narrative standpoint.
