Thank you.

Fortunately my kitchen floor is tile, so easy cleanup! And I did not drip too much en route to the first aid kit.

Generally speaking I love living alone, but I admit there are times when it would be nice to have someone to clean the blood off the kitchen floor and feel sorry for me a bit. (Am fine. Stubbed a toe in such a way the nail came off is all.)

Very cool to see this Atlantic Canada Game Celebration on Steam. 🍁 Shoutout to Greyhaven Craft for organizing!

(My riding's not been called yet - currently a sliiiiight Liberal lead over the PQ. It's been Liberal for the last quarter century, so a PQ win would be an upset.)

Agreed. Separatism's a big thing, but also a thing we'd get a separate "just this thing" vote on. The thing that I really don't like is the "we're going to effectively bar a bunch of little Muslim and Sikh kids from public school" thing. Gonna write SO many letters to my MNA.

Kinda delighted about this, ngl. Am also totally okay with a minority government - I know majority governments "get things done" but I'd prefer "okay we have to work together" and a slower pace.

@emilyflemily.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 2:11 AM

I'm very surprised about the riding my folks live in - their MNA's been the same person for over a decade (albeit for two different parties).

Turandot and The Hobbit have in common that in both cases some guy wins a riddle contest with a gotcha question that's not actually a riddle, which is profoundly irritating.

@emilyflemily.bsky.socialOct 6, 2026, 12:31 AM

My evening today involved trying to explain the plot of Turandot to a very small child. Mostly doable if you skirt around the beheadings.

Oh nooooo

@emilyflemily.bsky.socialOct 4, 2026, 3:26 AM

Aw, no. So Hard is one of my favourite songs to sing at the top of my lungs on the highway. If you haven't heard it, give yourself a treat and do.

Any suggestions for middle grade books with arab protagonists? My kid just said they dont like being arab because "we're always the bad guys."

Alert! Alert! Story doing cool things with structure! I love that.

(I only mention it so that I don't get swarms of followers who are subsequently baffled when I don't talk about what they'd expect)

@emilyflemily.bsky.socialOct 2, 2026, 9:48 PM

No worries! Happens all the time, and at least it's someone decent.

@emilyflemily.bsky.socialOct 2, 2026, 1:18 PM

Hi! Just to be clear, I am a different person with the same name. :)

@emilyflemily.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 3:36 PM

Also a banger, as is the maple!

Coaticook is DELICIOUS to boot. Way better than the other ice creams at that price point. (Love me some of their chocolate ripple)

There was a little pretend polling station set up for kids. Super cute.
