Cracked open the atlas over dinner with the kids, as one does, and when kiddo #1 asked, "but isn't it not Lake Ontario anymore? Didn't the president--" he got a very firm reply from me: "it's Lake Ontario. He thinks he can change it but he's wrong. He can't. The name is the same as it was."

I could close my eyes and visualize every intersection between the starting pointing and the destination of most trips I had made more than once.

'Cause if not, I think it's time to talk about a ban.

@justingundlach.bsky.socialOct 2, 2026, 8:07 PM

Can anyone show me a serious study finding that car alarms deliver net benefits?

@justingundlach.bsky.socialOct 1, 2026, 12:37 AM

I always forget that now bets are literally being taken about everything all the time. Need to revise my rhetorical repertoire a scooch.

If anyone is taking bets, this is where my money would go

@justingundlach.bsky.socialSep 25, 2026, 1:10 PM

If we put closing the Straight of Hormuz on a marginal emissions abatement cost curve, how does it compare to clean energy-supportive policy measures? Can anyone do this one on the back of a napkin?

@justingundlach.bsky.socialSep 25, 2026, 1:05 PM

Strong list, Mr Caley. I think you and I would get along just fine.
