World-class theatre made in Nottingham.
We’re delighted that Piccalilli, a brilliant independent restaurant just a short walk away, will be sponsoring our production of Expendable. As a charity, we are grateful for the support of our sponsors. Their generosity allows us to continue producing world-class theatre for our local community.
Punch is dedicated to James Hodgkinson and all victims of one-punch.
Commissioned by Nottingham Playhouse, written by James Graham, based on Jacob Dunne's memoir Right from Wrong, Punch won the 2026 Olivier Award for Best New Play. The play returns to Nottingham Playhouse in 2027 before embarking on a UK and Ireland Tour. A schools version is also in development.
Huge congratulations to KPPL Productions for their win at the Sky Arts Awards for the West End production of Punch. Over its 10 week run in the West End, 11,000 tickets were sold for £25 or less, with schools partnerships, free education resources and post-show discussions with 11 charity partners.
And how Sustainability is a key goal which runs throughout our operations, building and programming. Congratulations to all our fellow finalists!
We are delighted to have been shortlisted as finalists in the Visit Nottinghamshire Tourism Awards 2026/2027. This is our third year in a row as finalists, which we hope reflects how Accessibility and Inclusivity is core to our mission.
Huge congratulations to all involved, Director Sarah Frankcom, the wonderful Maxine Peake and Samuel Barnett and the incredible team of creatives and technical crew. A co-commission by Nottingham Playhouse, Eleanor Lloyd Productions and Kate Pakenham Productions.

Every show you see at Nottingham Playhouse runs because of our stage management teams. They keep the show on track, call the cues & hold it all together when the unexpected happens! Happy International Stage Management Day to our brilliant team! 👏💐#internationalstagemanagementday
EXTRA PERFORMANCE ADDED FOR THE GLAD GAME.✨
Due to demand we've added an additional matinee for The Glad Game. Actor Jen White takes Phoebe Frances White’s words and carries them beautifully, bringing her story vividly to life once more.

Huge congratulations to all the wonderful creatives, casts, crew and producers we have worked with on these productions, and to our brilliant staff for all they do to earn us a nomination as the UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre.
Congratulations to our fellow nominees.
We are delighted to have received a total of 4 UK Theatre Awards nominations! 🎉
Alan also pioneered training schemes to develop the next generation of theatre makers, in particular, technical theatre. Above all, Alan was a lovely man – enthusiastic, warm and committed to making our industry better. We send our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.
Later, he was Chief Executive of Chichester Festival Theatre and with Nottingham-born Artistic Director Jonathan Church, he reinvigorated the venue’s fortunes with many of the home-produced productions finding their way to the West End, and overseas.
Nottingham-born, he trained at Clarendon College and developed his skill for technical theatre here at Nottingham Playhouse, Plymouth Theatre Royal and Bolton Octagon. Alan Finch CBE was Managing Director of Cameron Mackintosh’s group of companies and a Director of Delfont Mackintosh Theatres (DMT).
We are so sad to hear of the passing of Alan Finch, a former Production Manager of Nottingham Playhouse and a much-loved alumnus who never lost his passion for regional theatre.
