One of my favorite hobbies is the Better Business Bureau scam tracker, because it's either some super wild story that I would very much like to fall asleep to a documentary about or just "I spent $100 on LOVE, no further details."
Saaaaaame.
Would also argue that living through the Abercrombie years also put people off of being told what to wear.
There was a period of time during the 2000s where every year there were specific expensive designer bags that everyone was supposed to run out and get.
I don't know. I hated them with the fire of 1,000 suns. Barrel pants are literally just a way to force people to buy new jeans that they definitely don't have already. "No, you want to look bow-legged! This is great!"
Though, to be fair, I do think part of the reason so many of us kept wearing our same shit/whatever we felt like wearing was because the fashion industry kept trying to throw cold-shoulder tops at us and no one wanted that.
I honestly think that "It bags" were what sent millennials over the edge with that nonsense. Like, they just went too far and everyone decided they were fucking done until like 2020 when the Gen Zers came in and announced that no one could have side parts anymore.
I will honestly never forgive Gen Z for bringing back the "Oh my God, you're wearing THAT? That's so five minutes ago. You can't wear that anymore." shit. We had at least an entire decade of reprieve from all of that, and it was honestly glorious.

I have a running theory that the less Republicans understand about a thing they are mad at, the more nonsensical and babyish their rhetoric becomes. See: "DEI Bike Lanes," "transgender for everyone," pretty much any use of the word "woke."
I am not!
There's been a lot written about the race and class issues regarding "quiet luxury" and "clean girl aesthetic" and attendant trends, but I do feel the need to point out that it's all also just really fucking boring.
I feel like "quiet luxury" really just means wearing a lot of beige.
Oh man, I knew about Schlicter but I was not aware that he was a "civilian government advisor." Not that I'm surprised.
As a former Claire's employee (who was allowed to pierce baby ears after one whole week of training), my apologies!
I actually went to the mirror and pulled my earlobes back, and not only can I not figure out how earrings would stay that way (maybe a strap?), but nothing happened to my face or neck anyway. It kind of hurt, but that was about it.
This is fucked for *many* reasons, but I have to tell you that I am inordinately preoccupied with whatever is going on with these facelift earrings it appears she is wearing. How is that happening?
RIP Mr. Belding.
It’s so weird to remember that Stalked by my Doctor is Emma Roberts’s dad.
So rich in protein!
