Oh he’s doing great for the most part, just old and ridiculous as hell. But thank you.

(He turned 16 in July, has been on life-saving heart medicine for 3 years. We feed him whatever the hell he’s willing to eat, which changes every other day. What am I gonna do, deny him something?)

Me: I think Beau (our dog) is finally full. Ava: he did eat six pizza rolls. Me:

Every now and then I get feedback that sticks with me. This is one of those.

So when I get down on the current Flyers I think back on this time a way-too-rich-for-the-neighborhood family friend found it necessary to taunt a HS junior over his favorite hockey team losing in the 1st round and remember… they’ve always been a disappointment. My whole life. It’s who they are.

His son, my friend, wasn’t even with him. He was on his way home from work and took the long way around the neighborhood just to bust my balls.

I had a devils fan friend whose dad had season tickets to EVERYTHING, including the Flyers. And over 20 years ago, after the Flyers were eliminated in the first round, my friend’s dad hand-delivered these tickets to me just to taunt me.

I just found these 2006 Flyers Cup Final tickets. I grew up in a neighborhood that was divided- my friends and I on the south side were all Flyers fans. The kids on the north side were all devils fans.

That’s the same commitment it takes to growing it long, and then just getting half of it cut. But yeah maybe. Would be a nice surprise for my wife to come home to.

Of course. Leave my “floating candles” on overnight once and suddenly I need 20 new batteries. It’s ridiculous.

Where’s JD Drew when you need him?

If my choices are Drysdale or York, I’m taking Drysdale every single time.

Gonna walk into the local Great Clips and tell them to just have fun with it, see how it goes.

I need a haircut. But not only don’t I have a barber (I’ve got like 5 haircuts in the last 8-9 years… maybe), but I don’t even know what to say. I have no idea what my hair is supposed to look like. I have no idea how to explain it even if I did. Welp, guess I’m growing it long again.
