And there are places where the same frames are used 3-4 times in a row (those wiggling robot fingers...). It's smooth and crisp, and your eye doesn't even pay attention to the static elements unless you know to look. I like that effect, and it's the kind of thing one can do by hand with a light box.

So, kind of a neat trick that I always liked about 90s animation: notice how few elements actually move in each frame? A lot of the time, it's just the mouth or a couple parts on a static robot, with most of the scene static or panning (implying they drew a larger scene and scrolled the camera).
