This is the first thing I bought after signing the contract to write the Crystal Lake novelization. I've written novels about all three of these bad boys! (Now if I can find a mug that has Art on it, too...)

People have been asking where they can order the Crystal Lake novelization. It'll be available at the A24 site as well as Amazon and B&N. I'll share links as soon as they're available. In the meantime, here's an actual picture of me writing the book.

At last, it can be told! The book will be published on Oct. 15th!

Congratulations to all the finalists for this year’s National Book Award in Fiction! It’s been such an honor (and such a difficult task!) to be a judge this year. I’m so grateful to have gotten to spend so much time with our finalists, our longlist, and all the other great books we read this year.

One of the things I hate about Ohio: all the sidewalk chalk people waiting to reach up and grab unwary pedestrians. BEWARE THE CHALK!

After writing notes for several weeks, I finally broke ground on a new novel today!

Watched this cosmic horror movie on Tubi last night. It's based on a Fritz Leiber story I was unfamiliar with, and I enjoyed it.

I've never felt so seen.

The audiobook of Writing in the Dark, read by David Stifel, is out today! Available on Audible and Google Play.

Last week, the publisher of my Secret Novelization, which was due out in October,.told me the IP owner has decided to hold off publishing until a later, unspecified date. I'll let you know when I have more news.

Saw Resident Evil this weekend! Good, gory fun that doesn't take itself too seriously and is all the better for it!
