Infusing African philosophies into the soul of a First Contact narrative for my new novel THE FIST OF MEMORY got me thinking about the history and present of First Contact in general and in African SF more specifically and so naturally, I wrote an article about it.
A new study of the Indus Valley city of Mohenjo-daro (c. 2600–1900 BCE) indicates that egalitarian structures increased there with the expansion of the city. Perhaps urbanism doesn’t always conjure inequality? Really wish that David Graeber was still here to read this.
