The obvious counter messaging here is that this culture war shit is the way people are being distracted from their material concerns. ppl in rural Alabama are hurting with the cost of fuel and food right now, and their legislators are wasting their time and the state's money with this nonsense.
It’s the best mag in the world
"Prof G Markets" is ahead 1% in the polls, workers of the world unite and vote for It Could Happen Here to take down the market-based professoriate
genuinely heartbreaking. When humanity is devalued in the way it has been in this country, and all over the world, we all lose something profound.
lovely warm NYC out with friends gare, bailey and heather landsman
We discuss taxpayer funded Trump ads, the Supreme Court approving a shoddy database to purge voter registration, the frat gang assault at Cornell, Trump reinstating the 2020 version of Title IX, and how Peter Magyar is cracking down on Orban’s corruption.
I’m back in the Cool Zone this week talking unions! Come for the labor news, stay for my terrible accent
Oh wow a new podcast award nomination, great chance for everyone to practice voting before the midterms. I know it can be scary
The gang discuss Trump’s speech at the UN, the Paramount-WB merger, another ICE shooting in Texas, how Bill C-39 threatens Indigenous rights and labor, a new election plan in Palestine, UK lifeboat protests, and Trump banning news outlets.
i was disappointed at the lack of brutalism
Good movie! Also an unexpected Tim Robinson and Guy Debord crossover
Just when I think I can’t hate OpenAI and Sam Altman any more, new details come out about how ChatGPT helped a shooter plan one of the worst mass shootings in Canadian history in Tumbler Ridge, BC. OpenAI made an explicit decision not to report the user to authorities.

I think I’m pretty clear on this bsky.app/profile/bish...
But like full transparency, I just don’t really agree with the opinions of the people you tagged, I’m familiar with them but I have a different approach to how the left should respond to this tech and organize to reign in capital
I’m not evaluating x-risk but covering regulatory proposals. “Automation can’t threaten workers, only management can” isn’t a gotcha, the issue is capitalist ownership and why this tech should be seized. Frontier models are a capable technology already changing production in white collar sectors.
hilarious and insane article. full of the sorts of people you meet all the time in left activism, who combine neuroticism and narcissism to bring down any institution they're allowed into.
