Compare MLB's callous disregard for its fans that to the way the WNBA, PWHL, and WPBL have worked so hard to get and retain our attention and love.
Compare it to the @oaklandballers.bsky.social and Pioneer League popping off in California.

Pardon me I was born to speak all mirth & no matter. I'm into comics, period dramas, TV, and baseball. Enspousened to @mostlymartha. Queer. Them/they/he
Major League Baseball can be so much more than it is today -- more energized, more representative, more family-oriented, more community focused. More fun. If they weren't billionaire cowards, they'd call me.

This is a little about the Dodgers, but it's much more about how John Fisher fraudulently kept Oakland on the hook for a decade. It's about Giants Pride Night. It's about how there are fewer Black American ballplayers now than in the 80s.
Baseball is a business, sure, but it's also part of the fabric of our communities, our families, and our identities. That's a precious trust. If the sport wants to thrive, it must commit to honoring that relationship. It must invest real energy and resources into rebuilding the trust it has broken.
My ideas for strategies and tactics to achieve these goals have changed over two decades, but my vision remains true.
I've been working on my MLB Commissioner plan for over 20 years. The goals are: - League-wide parity and increased competitiveness - The best labor practices of any global sport - Investment in a diverse and energized player and fan base to power baseball for the next 50 years.
I experienced the 2004 Red Sox and the 2025 @oaklandballers.bsky.social, and it's as good as being a human gets.
But no team has a right to it year after year. Not the Sox, the Yankees, the Dodgers, anyone. Baseball is more than just a TV ratings business.
Dynasties are bad. Every team deserves a fair shot to go all the way because every city deserves it and every fan deserves it. Baseball does not exist to give big media market teams something to do while they wait for October.
Any story about Loren Taylor should lead with the fact that his political career is financed by hedge fund managers and real estate moguls who don't live in Oakland. Also his PACs Empower Oakland, Black Action Alliance, and Revitalize East Bay. Taylor is a stooge for Piedmont and Peninsula money.
Taylor observed the federal corruption trial of his former political opponent and three men accused of orchestrating political attack ads against him.

Katie Zacharia is out as press secretary after five days
She didn't even last a full Scaramucci
Have you finished that drawing of Prometheus having his liver ripped out? Yep, real sexy, just like you asked
y'all... 🤭😭
Big "can briefly be used as a boat" energy
I call this a "yay-boo!" where you are happy for them but a little sad for yourself
We are the world's biggest baseball dorks, and we have watched almost none of the postseason this year because it is too confusing and expensive. If I were trying to kill a sport within 40 years on purpose, I would do everything MLB is doing.
