My wife and I finished watching the second season of ADULTS last night. The show makes her laugh in unexpectedly goofy, unguarded ways. I also enjoy it very much. I’m willing to sacrifice a small child to ensure it returns for a third season.

Dave Boyle's NEVER AFTER DARK is now playing at the River Oaks Theatre, and this film rules! This gruesome Japanese ghost story suckers you into thinking it's a charming riff on THE FRIGHTENERS before pulling the rug from underneath you. It's got gnarly gore and heaps of heart. Don't miss it!

Super honored to have hosted one of my film heroes at the River Oaks Theatre tonight!

It's been kind of crazy to watch pork rinds go from weird truck-stop garbage food to being sold in the health-food aisles of supermarkets.

This will be the smallest of small potatoes in the context of the Paramount/Warner Bros. merger, but I hope Warner Bros.'s theatrical booking portal for film buyers doesn't get shuttered. It is, hands down, the best in the business.

I watched A PAGE OF MADNESS last night for the first time. The film's lack of interstitials and a hallucinatory live score by The Silent Light, combined with a head full of allergy medicine, left me dizzy and confused. Watching the film felt, I think, like dying. Fun experience, would recommend!

The score for THE PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC was absolutely incredible. I can't wait for A PAGE OF MADNESS tomorrow.

RIP to Jerry Golod, an Executive Producer on TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE. If you're looking for something spooky to watch this month, this horror anthology gem is one of the best to do it.
