I have a higher bar for rape/SA, given the lifelong trauma they cause to those who were assaulted.
"I don't like the stutter step approach to a pen, but that's just me." It's not just you, Emma. It's not just you.
*Another* hair-pulling red card??? On replay, clear as day, with Athenea yanking Michelle Cooper's hair back. Athenea played maybe 1 full minute after coming on?
Makes no sense why it works but I’ll take it
It’s working for me in multi view but not the single frame
Has he owned it? Made amends?
This is inevitable, and behind the scenes they've been talking like it's a done deal. They don't think women should be allowed to control their own bodies, and they believe it's up to them to take away that right.
Regardless of however this ends, I feel like big picture for the USWNT is two main points - one of early structure/personnel that helped put them in a hole without forcing Spain out of first gear, and then some fine margin stuff that they don’t want to be on the wrong side of.
Adriana Nanclares whatta game for the goalkeeper
I’m OK with it. Unexpected and they for sure didn’t have video of her. But has to finish it better.
Didn’t hate idea of Yohannes taking the PK. Finish of it just needed to be better.
Where was this USWNT in first half? Far more aggressive and collected, and has led to two near-misses.
Because society doesn’t give AF about women. Especially when it comes to our sports stars. Kobe’s entire ‘Mamba’ persona came out of his rape case and people glossed right over it.
Wilson is offside, but this is the kind of movement against the run of play the USWNT should be generating - this is how you penetrate a not impenetrable Spain defense
Clear offside.
By my count, this is the third time in 96 matches over 5 1/2 years the USWNT has trailed by two goals. It's happened twice vs. Spain. (Mexico the other.)
Spain but the S is silent
The U.S. can’t be the team getting beat in transition today and that’s the story of that goal
Woooof. Complete defensive breakdowns on both goals.
That was too easy for Spain.
